Kettering University 2026 Commencement Ceremony

We are thrilled to have you join us for the 2026 Commencement at Kettering University's Atwood Stadium located at 701 University Avenue, Flint, MI 48503! Tickets are required for entry for all individuals over the age of two (2) in order to enter. Children under the age of two (2) will not be required to have a ticket as long as they are seated on the lap of a ticketed adult for the duration of the event.



Atwood Stadium will open for guests at 8:30 a.m. the morning of the ceremony.


General Admission Seating:

Atwood Stadium features bleacher-style seating for general admission tickets. Attendees with general admission seating will enter the stadium from street level through the northwest and northeast gates at the corners of the stadium facing University Avenue (please refer to the Atwood Stadium map). Strollers are not allowed beyond the concourse level of the stadium. Please note for general admission seating, the most accessible seats are those in the top two rows of the stadium.

Attendees with general admission tickets and a state-issued handicap parking license plate and/or parking permit are invited to park in the lot between Patrick Street and Begole Street (please refer to the Atwood Stadium map). Golf cart shuttles will be available to drop off attendees at the gates before the ceremony.


VIP & Field-Level Accessible Seating:

Attendees with (1) pre-reserved, field-level accessible seating that is designated for guests using mobility-assisted devices (such as motorized wheelchairs, wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) or (2) VIP, field-level seating will enter the stadium through the southeast gate from the Field Level & Reserved Parking Lot located off of Stone Street (please refer to the Atwood Stadium map). Graduates requesting field-level, accessible seating for their guests should contact [email protected].

A digital or printed parking pass is required for each vehicle parking in the Field Level & Reserved Parking Lot. The parking pass will be sent to accessible seating and VIP guests in early June. Golf cart shuttles will be available to drop off attendees at their field-level seats.


Permitted Items: 

  • Binoculars and cases are subject to inspection
  • Blankets
  • Cameras 
  • Cell phones 
  • Bags smaller than 12” x 12” x 6” 
  • Rain apparel
  • Seat cushions
  • Small umbrellas used without obstructing others’ view 


Prohibited Items: 

As a general rule, any items that obstruct the view of other guests or that can be used as projectiles, that interfere with the comfort of other guests, or that are deemed inappropriate/hazardous by stadium security are prohibited. 

Guests are subject to visual inspection of persons, parcels, bags, and clothing capable of concealing prohibited items. Changes in national, regional, and campus security may affect security procedures. 

The following items are not permitted in Atwood Stadium:

  • Alcohol
  • Tobacco, including e-cigarettes and vapor cigarettes
  • Non-service animals 
  • Firearms, weapons, and sharp objects, including mace and pepper spray 
  • Bags larger than 12” x 12” x 6”
  • Coolers and containers, including bottles and beverage containers 
  • Signs or banners
  • Bicycles 
  • Skateboards
  • Strollers (beyond the concourse) 
  • Noisemakers 
  • Large umbrellas 
  • Objects that obstruct others' views 
  • Clothing displaying profane or inappropriate symbols or wording 
  • Hazardous materials including but not limited to explosives and fireworks 
  • Laser pointers 
  • Selfie sticks 
  • Trespassing, soliciting, peddling, and loitering 
  • Any illegal substances 
  • Any other item or action deemed dangerous or inappropriate
