Tuition: $540

Building on the successful January run of SF Noir at the BATS Bayfront Theatre, this class will dive into the murky morality of Film Noir: the saints and sinners, temptation and grift that make these stories of “crossing a line’ so compelling. We will work on playing strong wants. editing scenes for tight filmic pacing and on playing characters that are styled large enough to fit the Noir definition of “blood melodrama.” There will be films for viewing assigned and the class will read “The Big Sleep,” by Raymond Chandler (annotated edition), because it's super entertaining and has a royal flush of Noir archetypes to pull from. F6 or consent of the instructor.

BATS Improv Class Refund Policy

• If you cancel more than 96 hours (4 days) before a class begins, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee.
• If you cancel within 96 hours (4 days) of your first class, or any time after your first class session, your tuition will be forfeit.

In the event that we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we’ll refund your tuition in full.
